an observation

As an Engineer I ponder and many a time I've realized this particular observation to be very true.

I find this so important that I've decided to remind self , the below- everyday-now who doesn't like reviewing and reading a fraction of his/her writing (an independent pleasure in its own right :))

life NOW seems greatly simplified!

American news can be summed in one word BIAS.

MSNBC- Lean towards liberals

Fox- Lean towards conservatives

CNN- Is it really news...let me justify this because I know a lot of colleagues who prefer CNN over the other two news giants

Ex1:Ask Hugh Hefner about unemployment in recent Piers Morgan show

Ex2: Have news readers such as Rick Sanchez...any episode of his decreases your IQ a fair bit...

Ex3: etc.

Courage

...most of us don't have it or have very little of it.

It takes a lot of courage to say I fuc** up

It takes a lot to muster and say I'm sorry.....

I sincerely feel that to hold your head up and accept your faults is the most difficult thing to do...doesn't matter who you are or what you are made of.

That's the bitter Truth....agree?

Money Mayweather is back

...and back in style. Dominated all 12 rounds. He is still the best pound to pound boxer of our era. Just love his defense and his laugh when he gets an occasional punch.His hands move like waves...fast very fast..and more often than not he gets his deadly upper cut. He did get a KO in R2 btw. A lot was expected from this match because in boxing when its defense vs counter punch its usually a bloody match. A little disappointed -it did not turn out to be that way. Floyd just dominated from R1, when you have a punch connect percentage (PCB) of 60 you are almost always a winner.


He is Back and let the betting begin. The wait is over.

Boxing according to be is the best individual sport there is....its all about you...mental...speed..strength..tactics....stamina...fear...crowd....its bad.

PS: Cant wait for the Manny Pacquiao vs Mayweather...if it happens that is.

Manager: Sorry for the short notice Nikesh, a few have already interviewed him. Its today and your slot is from 12.30 to 1.30.Let me know if you need more time for his interview I will cut down his company tour...will be taking him to lunch now and dont be late for the interview.

Me:Wow?...

That gave me little over an hour to prepare. English Language and communication not being my strength (not to mention my thick S.Indian Accent) I decided to write down my questions.

I prepared all my questions (good luck googling it)!!! they were straight forward and I'm sure any engineer can answer most of these (and I hope a mechanical/civil/aerospace engineer answers all).

I'm not going to tell where this guy graduated from, reasons being I hope to get into that University someday or at least I will die trying :)


BUT

Devastated I was, after 90min :'(.....I just hate the way engineers are being taught these days...we are a bunch of morons who fail to understand basic concepts in ENGINEERING. I cant believe we all become engineers without understanding basic Math. We still struggle to do Math that was developed in the 16th and 17th century despite having fancy computers and gadgets.

The rest of the world can depend on Computers, Internet, Wikipedia, Wolfram and get smart (I call them Wiki-smart..all superficial-one page knowledge-bunch of dimwits)I depend on my Brain and it will never let me down...cos IT aint a server to CRASH.


PS: On a guilt trip right now...OK OK I use Woflram :D

Magic

Sitting in the lab yesterday getting bored doing simulations on ABAQUS I just had to do something exciting.

Well- this is what I deduced

If you throw a stone in vacuum it follows a parabola.

Its strange how math helps us to visualize 'weird' things, the way it represents a physical world problem depicts great success.

On the other hand I just realized for me to get excited all I need is a pen and some basic equations. I'm cheap :p
